Your visit to villa “Bukite” gives you the chance to be close to the magnificent Bulgarian nature. Village Manastir is the highest village in the Balkan Peninsula. It is situated at 1500 m above the sea level, near the natural reserve “Kormisosh”. Here winter starts in November and ends at the end of March. The blanket of snow is over 2 m deep, but the climate is mild. The sea-level and the mild climate are a prerequisite for rich coniferous and deciduous vegetation. In the village and in the surroundings there are scores of springs and fountains of crystal mountain water. To get there you have to pass by a steep road through Asenovgrad, Bachkovo and Laki.
The village is accessible even in winter. The village is also famous for it was the village of the Bulgarian ex-president Petar Stoyanov.
Villa “Bukite” is recently built. It has a tavern and a fireplace, living-room with a bar board. On the second floor there is a silent place and on the third floor – a kitchen. On the other two floor there are bedrooms with two or three beds in them and a bathroom and WC on each floor.
Here you will be welcomed with a smile and be prepared the traditional Rhodope dishes. In the evenings in the open or by the fireplace, the bagpipe and the voices of Rhodope folk will make you understand why Rhodope is a magical mountain.

Attractions in the area:
Peak “Prespa”: It is the highest peak at that part of the mountain. To get to the top you have to climb a steep hill and after that through an old Roman way, built of precise ranged many centuries ago cobblestone pavement. And then again up through huge moraines that climb down from the top. The peak is 2000 m high. From the top you can easily watch the Aegean Sea. From one side of the top you watch the tower on Snejanka Peak. From the other side you watch “Cross Forest” (“Krastova Gora”) that is one of the energy centres in this young an magical mountain.
Peak “Svoboda” (“Ennhan Baba”): It is said that at the top of the hill there are enormous pierced stones that are supposed to had been left from prehistoric times and used for astronomy observations and predictions. There at a picturesque glade religious rituals were held annually. They gathered people from all parts of the Rhodope mountain. During the first two days there were votive offering and public prayers and a week after that there were fight competitions, gun shooting, fun acompanied by kaval, bagpipe, drum playings. Joy and songs filled the meadows and the hills – a wonderful and fantastic festival at the beginning of spring and summer – a feats of the rising nature.
The chaple and the waterfall “Sveti Duh”: There are sweet-scented and endless meadows agound. If you just lie down for a couple of minutes with your eyes turned to the sky, you will feel power infusing your body that fills you with mildness and calm.
Krastova Gora (“Cross Forest”): in the cenral part of Rhodope mountain, amidst wonderful nature is situated “Sveta Troica” Monastery – Krastova Gora or as it is marked on the Bulgarian map – “Krastov Vrah” (“Cross Peak”). It is one of the holy places in Bulgaria which Bulgarians call “Rhodope Jerusalem”. According to a legend here in X century was burried a part of the Christ cross.
The region is appropriate for: relaxation, tourism, walks, fishing, biking, sunbathing, gathering herbs.
